9th May Day of Victory over the Nazi Germany in Bishkek

 

In this tour I want to describe Kyrgyz role in victory.
Festival on 9th May one of the most important dates marked in Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan became one of the most important bastions of a united military-economic organism of USSR. On World War II fronts were involved more than 360 000 soldiers from Kyrgyzstan (every sixth inhabitant of the country), 73 kyrgyz soldiers were awarded the higher award - the Gold Star and a rank of the Hero of Soviet Union.
There are many memorials in Bishkek dedicated to the Great Victory.
The festival begins at 10 am with laying wreaths and baskets of flowers to the Eternal Flame, and then announced a minute of silence at the end of which the guard of honour company makes three-volley salute. After the army march of Bishkek garrison troops veterans and visitors are invited to tables of soldier's kitchen «On a halt».
Evening in Bishkek theaters concerts held dedicated to the Great Victory. At the Bishkek hippodrome are racing. The festival concludes with a military salute.

- 10 00 am to 13 00 pm Victory square, Army parade, War Memorials, brief history of Kyrgyz role in victory.


- 13 30 pm slow walk towards Ala-Too square, Panfilov Park (named in honor of Hero of the Soviet Union Panfilov).


14 30 - 15 00 pm short break


- 15 00pm Museum of Kyrgyz history.


- 16 30 pm Moloday Gvardiy avenue (translated as "Young Guards"). Memorials dedicated to 73 heros of Sovet Union from Kyrgyzstan.


- 18 00 concert at Bishkeks theatre.


- 20 00 army salute. End of Tour.
